Design Goals

A cutting-edge engineering company, Terra Ferma, sorely needed to upgrade their design and marketing material. They were missing out on sales, because potential clients were distracted by their current marketing material. Plus, their unique products needed to be illustrated in order to easily explain all the system benefits. They reached out to AMD for illustrations and marketing design help.

AMD got to work on doing a comprehensive design analysis. First we looked at the entire market for their products, zeroing in on their design assets. Next we targeted the top designs and focused on how we could elevate TF’s brand to compete.

While AMD was conducting the competitor research, Terra Ferma needed a brochure for a trade show. AMD created a digital brochure that the saleperson could use to easily illustrate the product on a tablet. If the lead needed follow-up, then they could scan a QR code that led them to a digital copy of the information. This saved on rush printing costs, and demonstrated the company’s tech-savvy.

Since the client prioritized delivery of the illustrations, that is where AMD started their work. After getting approval for the isometric illustration strategy and palette, AMD presented the client with rough drafts for the client to pursue a general direction for the illustrations.

Once the client chose a rough direction, AMD got to work on first drafts of the illustrations. From the tech devices to the overall layout, AMD created original content that would easily communicate the function and benefits of the product.

Once the illustrations were delivered along with a Style Guide, AMD was asked to put together additional work for the client. AMD was contracted to put together a white paper report and illustrations for other products.
